I have a 3-in puck mount gasket on the outside that has shrunk over the years. Can I just add another one and use two without a leakage problem? Thanks in advance.
Thank you. I have read that one, but T-9 was not mentioned. I read the anti-seize may harden if left on a long time? I was looking at conductive graphite spray coating, every hear of using that?
I have an aluminum puck mount that is mounted to aluminum and after a year or so the mount gets corrosion on it. Any conductive paint or coating or other I could use to stop it? Thanks.
Yeah same here. I did a quick search and found some but it said it was magnet wire and then at walmart it had resistance wire in the auto section. Maybe they used magnet wire LOL. Never know.
I purchased a driver extreme silver bullet 66 inch top load antenna. It says it can handle 1500 watts, and it says it uses 15 gauge wire. Can 15 gauge wire really handle that much power? Can it handle the 400ish pep watts I run through it? Thanks in advance...
I have it mounted on the top of a Jeep. I do have the 27-in shaft but it's a couple inches too long around here so I have a 17 inch and a 9 in which is 2 inches shorter but makes a difference driving around and I was just thinking of it because I always hear longer shaft is better.
First may I say, happy Labor day. I have a 17-in shaft Predator antenna and I would like to know if I could add on a 9 inch Predator shaft to make it a little longer, for possibly better performance. Thank you.
Looking to possibly retire in Brazil and looking for any info on bringing in CB/ Ham/ Export Radios and Amplifiers, and the use thereof. Thanks in advance.
I thank you for all the info although I am clumsy and not technical at all and would probably f up anything I try that is explained to me LOL and hence the reason for asking here. I know I am not saying everything correctly and many techs are nit picking the way I am saying things. Thats why I...
I gather you mean at the ANT connector at the back of the amp. I have done this. I had to use both the radios swr meter and the one after the amp with a male to male connector and a Nessi RS-27 meter. I was told when doing it this way to balance at the radio and after the amp, as I do a 1 and 40...
Ok thanks. I meant tune antenna swr. I have a meter in the radio. In the beginning and over the years when asking I was told to check swr at the radio and tune it from there with amp on. Then someone told me to do it with amp off. Then I was told to tune swr with amp off as it bypasses the amp...
SWR antenna tuning. From what I read for amps the SWR should be less than 1.5 going in. I see many talk about where the SWR Meter goes and most say by the radio or after the amp or both. If I am wanting to get low SWR into the amp wouldn't I want the meter just before the amp? I usually tune...
Just wondering if any who has said something about their builds, builds something better. If no answer here, I am most likely going to Hopper and getting a 8X2SC2879C. I have a Carl Built 400HDHG and works great. I am running it with my Galaxy DX979 thats doing 25 PEP. Going to run the new one...
