Thanks, helpful, the only tech work I do is soldering a mic plug and swapping crystals, lol. I don’t mess with high voltage stuff inside radios or amps. Thought if I picked one up that has been restored I would be okay. I just liked the look of the radios, I will stick with my ICOM 7300 & 718.

Lol, it ain’t perfect but it does work pretty good for what it is, YMMV.

I should also point out that antenna tunes up well I was able to get a perfect 1.1-1 match.

I have one and have used it outside on my pool deck, could get 10-15 miles with a stock radio, in suburbia OC, CA. I think it would make for a good compact camping antenna.

do these electret cartridges simply just go in place of the old MC320 cartridge? So just soldering the two leads into the mic head, no changes to the base or plug wiring?
