Someday "overseas" will have an "air ride" mobile bracket for our radios. I do admit, i put my 980 ssb directly to my truck dash and it takes a.beating. The foam side pads i use for now seem to help.
Yep. Hard to fathom a mobile bracket with shocks. 2 plates with the right type of medium in the middle. Just kinda surprised there isnt anything already available. When it comes to anything mobile, no one is doing anti vibration / shock. Maybe one day on ali :)
my old school 2510s / 2950 were built for a beating mobile when new. Now i try and still use them mobile but respect their age lol. I'm not as limber as i used to be either :) i was just thinking that in this day and age, we would be able to buy a good "anti shock / vibration" mobile radio...
Just wondering if anyone has heard of or made a radio mount for mobile use that works well for vibration / shock. Maybe something or made with a material that works well ? I have used the split foam that is commonly used for wrapping pipes with some success (fit to the radio sides). I like to...
Thanks SL. Looks like i wont need to deal with it as the seller offered to take it back and refund me. Phew. I will be careful going forward to consider age of the rig and stay with a local purchase to avoid shipping as these are pretty heavy and i dont think ship well to begin with. Enjoy the...
Symptom:
No RX, no TX. Dead spots in tuning range. Caused by PLL unlock.
Probable Causes:
Unstable trimmer capacitor is causing PLL unlock in DDS VCO.
Cure:
Replace bad plastic trimmer cap C205 (20pf) on PLL unit with ceramic equivalent.
Well i decided to pop it on a dummy load and go through the bands. The dead / squelched out parts are on all bands. Both selecting the band buttons or free wheeling it with the tuning knob (tuner on / off no change) same result. I then tested tx across all bands. I have tx on only a few of the...
Hi guys. I recently bought a 737 that i had shipped. The seller described the radio as working fine. I just received it yesterday and unboxed it and connected it today. Initial light / quick testing earlier today wirhout yet transmitting (i planned on rtfm) i was very impressed. Tonight i...
Please let me know how you fair out if you reach out to them for support or help. I own a few of their radios and am curious how helpful and resposive they are with customers if and when needed. Thx & 73

Nice. I was trying to find something like that that would work for 5555n type / size case radios online and there is really not much available out there.
Yes, TM86 had posted this on Tuesday in the ebay auctions section titled "homemade" which got me thinking again about one of these newer radios made as a base.
