Thank you for the help guys! Glad someone is able to actually get to some of the data. I never could find a working link. Great to have you folks willing to help. Blessings!
Has ANYONE found a FULLY working version of this old CBtricks database with the actual links working?
I am actually looking for information for the following failure.
I had one fail like this years ago and fixed it, now I have another one and can't find my notes or their copy either. I actually...
Good thing about this version Anytone is that it is just about the same as the Lincoln II and schematics are available for that one. I am all for the right to repair movement. This is getting ridiculous.
You just said EXACTLY what I was thinking. LOL. I was about to mention the right to repair movement also as some others have mentioned but I figured I had already whined enough about it.
Why do these clowns keep doing this? Make it a guessing game. I guess they only want their "select" "factory" shops to have the correct information and parts. Many of us have been servicing the CB & export radios for decades and really don't care to waste time with these silly games. I guess...
Nope, this radio looked nearly new. Don't think these HP40W's have been around all that long anyhow. Did get around to looking at the pots a little closer, black powdery and comes off easily on your fingers. Didn't do any more investigation and trashed them. Puzzles me, really looked like they...
Had another RCI69 base unit come in with no RF output just a couple of weeks ago. Bias pots reading open, same gunk issue, RT1's shot. Ended up replacing the pots as cleaning wasn't really effective, still had jumpy adjustment. New output transistors, bias potentiometers, bias adjusted, back up...
Didn't bother, but I still have those VR's and might check them for that. The RCI-69 radios have been absolutely terrible for that crap!! I nearly always replace any when they start doing that, I don't trust they won't do it again. Thanks for that thought!
Got this one working fine this evening. Had the typical full power tx with no modulation failure. AM Amp regulator TR-51 was shorted. That immediately fixed that issue. Then noticed weird RF output power levels and lack of stability. Found both VR10 & VR11 were open. Neither of them look diddled...
Ok. I have to reply to myself to maybe help someone else with the same odd problem. Had someone email me the correct modification and I double checked it and it was already done, the low/high flip switch still wasn't working. Turns out after close inspection, there was some glue or goo up in the...
I haven't had but one of these RCI69 Base units in the shop before and it was basically DOA and went back to warranty repair (Chris H.) When it came back all was well and I just forwarded it to the customer. Now I have another one brought in by a customer and the low/high switch will not...
I have found that the "Supertar" mic element is a great option for most President radios. If you want to keep your up/down buttons and don't mind sacrificing a superstar mic (DM-507 series), the element from it will fit inside the original President up/down button mics that come with the...
First one of these I have played with. Been away from a lot of these for a while. Back at it now!
By trial and error I have found:
RT402 is TX meter adj
RT3 is RX Meter adj
RT301 ref osc freq (tx freq adjust)
Anyone have a schematic? Does Uniden even supply these anymore? With CBtricks in...
