Ok ... I started all 4 caps at half mesh, marked the knobs with a paint stick at 12 o'clock for a visual aid with the cabinet on. I have removed the cabinet put an eyeball on the caps .... here are the results with the amp loaded up modulating 500watts , top tune (by ma meter) is 3/4 open mesh...
Update : Amplifier is up and running great on AM and SSB , thanks to DoctorAudio and nomadradio! One a last question if I may ..... on the 6 - 6MJ6 final tube sockets there is a heavy bare wire with a Z-14 choke and an adjustable pot similar to the grid tune circuit .... what is this adjustment...
nomadradio, thank you for commenting in this thread, this amp has the green wire with the yellow stripe on pin 4 of the 6AQ5 @ 6.3vac ..... I have read an older thread of yours discussing the solid green wire (12.6vac) from each of the 3 transformers feeding the 4- driver and the 6- final tubes...
I thank you very much for your time DrAudio , I thought it might be Pin 5 . Pin 5 has 450vdc on it and the SSB switch has 450vdc on the off side of it, I don,t understand why the capacitor is only rated at 150v ? This capacitor was blown apart when I removed it !!! Your thoughts ? Bruce

The advertised Frequency range for this amp is 26Mhz to 54Mhz. The amp works fine on 10m, I want to use it on 6m. I have general info and schematic found on the internet, but no information in regards to what mod. needs to be done for use on 6 meter . Any help would be greatly appreciated ...
