11 meter is very quiet?

Channel 37L was rockin' today. A bunch of good QSOs. 188 Nebraska said the band was dead at his location. . Hard to believe since I had a steady 3-5 S units of signal all morning.
Had two QSOs with WDX members today. A good long QSO with WDX1863 American Eagle (Steve) just before noon, and WDX 262 Brother DXer (Rod) about 4:30. Nice QSO. Just beat the evening Thunderstorm. Someday I will remember to bring a raincoat down to the shack. Got soaked again in the downpour going up to the house tonite. Live and Learn - the hard way. Story of my life. LOL.

Sounds like a bunch of you got the good side of conditions today and I'm happy to report the same in my part of the world too. Best day of dx I've had in a few weeks now and made plenty of contacts to take advantage of it. It was lively here from about 8 am until I signed off around 2 o'clock or so, had no problem getting out there. I'll check back in here shortly and see if it's still going.

I turned the radio on at 5:00 this evening and there was no dx to speak of. In the 20 minutes I had my radio on, I had two good qso's despite the conditions. 509 Bermuda came booming in for a 5 minute qso then JJ, @unit_399 came booming in for another good 5 minute qso. We wrapped it up, then 399 and 509 Bermuda had their own qso. From my end, we were the only three people on the radio. Thanks for the contact JJ. This is two days in a row, my friend.

Edit: Just had a quick contact with RG010 Hawaii. Talk about strange conditions. Three contacts = Bermuda, Columbia and Mountain View Hawaii.

Another massive downpour last evening. Luz had to drive to the airport (85 Km) to pick up her sister at 10 PM. On the way back she was blocked by derumbe (mudslide), and had to wait all night until a frontloader came out in the morning to clear the road. No cel service, but her 200W mobile made the trip to the farm. So I knew what was happening.

I'm glad she's ok and was able to make contact!
