Planning on being on the air around 2pm tomorrow afternoon on 37&38 LSB, hoping conditions will cooperate up here in Central PA,We shall see.....last day of vacation tomorrow and then back to work on Monday!!

Today was one of those days that you wish wouldn't happen. We had a severe thunderstorm last night that blew one of the new roof tiles off of my shack. No big deal, because the plastic sheeting underneath kept the water out. Fixed it today, no problem. But during the storm we had a close lightning strike that took out our electricity. A blown fuse at the transformer that feeds the farm. Our old (retired) EPM tech gave me a replacement fuse, and a fiberglas pole so I could replace it myself. When the fuse blew, I would replace it and rebuild the blown one for the next time. After he retired, EPM found out what I was doing and got all pissy. So I still replace it but keep quiet.
But then the wind blew a step ladder against our house and broke a water line. So we were without agua until next mid morning when I fixed the break. It's always something. Another fun day in Colombia. LOL.

What a difference today from yesterday. My Q6Pro in the cobalt made the trip to Tenn. only running 3/4 power from just the radio on 37lsb. But it is hard to hold a conversation when 37 & 38 lsb is a beehive . I tried 35 usb but nothing. Time to go to the radio room and see if my Lincoln II+ gets a pardon from acting up yesterday ! LOL
Never got on the air yesterday,went to church in the morning,took my Dad out to lunch and then took a nap in the afternoon, Well back to work for me today, hopefully try to get on the air next Sunday, have a great week ahead everyone!!

Don't feel alone bud. Yesterday radio was crap here also and last night I noticed transmit problems with my Cobra 2000 I'll have to check out. GRRRR
Airwaves weren't crowded yesterday late afternoon, but there were enough stations out there to have some nice QSOs. 762 in Central Texas was sounding really strong and we had a nice long chat. 411 out of Columbus Ohio and 32 St. Paul Minn were in there too. I like it when it's not so crowded. Opporttunity for longer contacts then. Hopefully again today.

The band opened up around 7:30 pm. Made a ton of contacts, most were in the northeast. NY PA MA NH and on....
Been away on personal and business the past few weeks. It was nice to find some good dx tonight! 8:30 and it's still booming in.
Working a new (new to me -1978 model) radio along with a little helper and getting the flowers. Makes me feel good about spending the $$

I turned a radio on today for the first time in weeks and was in shock to hear a great big train wreck on the band. I found myself accidentally working DX and it was a nice treat. Finally!
tell me some about your rm italy please how much power to run it n all the bad to the good

Nice radio you got there. LOL I have the same radio setting on my kitchen table and hooked to my refurbished K 40 Ant. on a sheet of metal in my kitchen window. With it turned on I heard when the band opened up last night as I was on the computer, but it was too late because my Jack- AZZ neighbor was home. That's the one radio I'd like to totally refurb. and mod. with extra channels but I'm feeling radio poor right now. Looks like my 2 ea Q6 Pros as mobiles and my Lincoln II+ as a base is going to have to do me for now until I get other problems fixed. Wish I had the talent at fixing radios like some of you have but I guess I can't Know It All
