11 meter is very quiet?

The DX has returned out here on the west coast of Canada! After hearing very little of anything for over month we have had lots of activity the last three days. Making some Gulf Coast, Louisiana, Florida and Caribbean contacts by day and Lots of Hawaii and Australia booming in again in the evening. South America especially Brazil and Argentina coming in strong on the upper frequencies. Nice to be hearing voices emanating from the radio and making contacts again!
I just returned from a 2 day trip about 85-90 miles away and turned the mobile on for a listen a few times and didn't hear much going on. Thank God for the FM Music radio. Probably be Slim Pickens until Fall but we'll keep on trying. I have enough to keep me out of mischief. LOL
Wouldn't you know it, here it is Sunday and the solar site says conditions are good for today. Time tells all tales !
For the most part, skip is really quiet here. Occasionally I'll hear faint brief voices from east to west coast. Only major activity seems to be non stop Mexico playing with noise toys and cranking up the echo. Evenings yield Australia and Jamaica for a short window. On the plus side, I have 8-10 locals in a 60 mile radius that enjoy uninterrupted nightly talks on 25.535 lsb.
It was good here this afternoon, talked to @DXman and Jamaica back to back sitting in front of the post office when I went to pick up the mail.

I heard you! Gave you a couple calls after you wrapped up with DX Man, but it seemed like everyone in Cali was trying to call him at that point LOL!
Did make a bunch of other California and Nevada contacts. Nice to see the summertime short skip season beginning!

Well I just turned on my Radio just now and conditions are really starting to come in up here in Central PA, haven't really been on the Air for almost 2 weeks due to work and lack of conditions,but I was able to make contact out of Pensacola, Florida today from a Gentleman named Randy and his he went by the call sign Whiskey Jack 113, I might be on this afternoon around 2pm on either 37 or 38 LSB, I'm going to try to get on the radio more this upcoming week ahead since I'm currently on vacation, hope everyone has a great day today!!!!!!

Yeah the solar site said fair for the day but I actually heard more chatter thru out the day today than I have in a while. Too busy to set at the radio but was nice to hear it sounding off when I passed by for a change.
The solar site said poor for 10-12 meters today but as I traveled I heard a bunch of activity but seems as if I had better luck making contacts with my regular 11 meter radios running a KL-200P or KL-203P as compared to my Q6 Pro running raw power. Beginning to think in this mountainous area I need the little extra help from the KLs. Just went to the radio room and heard chatter on both 38 & 37 LSB so I guess it is Pot Luck. Wishing the rest of you some luck but for me it's back out to that gorgeous Sun Shine and my Motorcycle. LOL
The band has been dead up here for weeks. The coffin is in the ground and they're backfilling on top of it. Every day I listen for vital signs, but alas there is nothing but hisssssssssssssssssssssss........
The dx has been active late in the evening here in south Texas. Friday i made contacts to many parts of the northeast, Midwest and southeast plus Hawaii and Australia. Saturday it was short dx to Alabama, Oklahoma and Louisiana. I even talked to Dallas. Yesterday it was not very active.
Well the Old Bones were slow moving this morning but when I finally got back upstairs this morning to get cleaned up and dressed to address the day I couldn't help but slide into the radio room. Turned on the Q6 Pro and could here Florida on 38 lsb but couldn't connect, so tried the Uniden 980 and the same thing, no Dice. So before throwing in the towel I tried the Galaxy DX 2547 & Bingo I made the trip to Florida so I chocked it up to a success but figured I shouldn't push my luck. The rest of the day was successful and now the old Buzzard is on his Roost thinking about picking some Bones. LOL
Tis the season for Pot Luck ! When I get some jobs finished I'll ride up to the hunting camp ( high on the mountain top ) and give it a try and if I get real ambitious I could drag up my spare Star Duster and spend a couple days. But like always the plate is full so I'm probably just teasing myself. Keep trying !
