11 meter is very quiet?

A slight shift in conditions last night resulted in short skip to Texas and Oklahoma. Pretty rare and only lasted 30 minutes, but very welcome after days of dx silence. So far this evening it's been Florida, South Carolina, and Ohio. Hope other forum members are having better conditions as well.

Things are weird. Worked all day mowing and trimming because it's suppose to rain again and I was in bad need of a mowing. The solar site said poor conditions today but when the work was done I decided to run to town for a sandwich and a cappuccino. The Q6 Pro was busy on both 37 & 38 LSB but couldn't connect to save my butt. I guess it is experiment time. I'm going to yank out the Q6 Pro & reinstall the McKinley & KL 203 P just to see what happens. There is no sense in me being a Hard Head unless I show it. LOL

Sometimes 100-200 watts is all you need to cut through the roar. I've got my ftdx10 with heil mic and 1kw to bust through the crowds tonight. Seems to be working at the moment.

I tend to agree with you about a little extra power. I like the sound of the Q6 pro but think it might not have the guts to operate in my area running on it's own steam.Only a little more experimenting might prove it. Like they say Nothing Ventured Nothing Gained !

I'm out on my boat 25 miles west of Key West. With a barefoot Cherokee AH-100 walkie talkie and a Glomex marine CB antenna, I just QSOed with 621 in Maine.

Yesterday, I picked up tons of stations out of Brasil on USB and LSB 40, USB and LSB 29 and USB and LSB 30.

Interesting conditions.

With tomorrow being a holiday in the U.S., how about we try to pull off a USB 35 net?

I've been hearing some skip lately in the mobile but have been on the go and couldn't honestly pursue it. Tomorrow I'll have the Galaxy 2547 tuned to 35 USB and keep my ears on. Good Luck to everyone PS they are talking Morning rain for around here.

Not much happening here, just a few murmurs from Hawaii, which is in the wrong direction. Hoping it swings around towards the US later so we can try and reach some of y'all on 35 USB..........
