11 meter is very quiet?

I don't have a Class D rig in the upstairs office (where I'm typing this from) so I make use of an IC-7000 for 12/10M operation and listening elsewhere.

For the past several days it's been absolutely quiet on upper HF. Did a sweep from 26.0 to roughly 28.5MHz today and the only activity I found was on Ch11 - the Secondary Bowl. Odd, because I'm close enough to a couple interstates that I should hear a fair amount of traffic on Ch19 day or night. Nada.

The 10M FT8 watering hole (28.074) is also dead. I though the 7000's receiver had died somehow so I disconnected the coax, put my 7200 on 29.000 along with the 7000 and transmitted a 5w test signal. Received loud and clear.

In many decades of playing radio I haven't seen things quite this dead.

Haven't been on the Air for over 2 weeks due to work and lack of Conditions in my area, fired up the Ranger this morning and made contact with a Station out of Northeast Missouri that went by DX 37 on 37 LSB,so propagation was good for a little bit and then it got quiet again...... Really looking forward to the Fall and Winter so conditions can start booming again in the Northeast like it usually does.........

bit of short skip past few days. alberta, sask. yellowknife, montanna last night. heard hawaii in there, oregon, cali
Absolutely! And some of it's really short. Talked to Wenatchee Washington the other night.......that's only 280 miles from my QTH up here in the Discovery Islands.

Lots of Saskatchewan, Alberta, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado contacts for me the last week or two. Even talked to a couple Alaska stations. Along with the usual California and Hawaii.
