11 meter is very quiet?

Only spent 3 hours total on the air today and tonight but made 18 solid contacts. All on 37 LSB. Called CQ WDX on 35 USB multiple times but nada. Came down to the shack to turn off the lights and disconnect the antenna around 7pm and talked to 1303 Paul in Washington state for quite a while. Good sounding ICOM. He sounded like he was next door. Then just as fast he was gone.

The worst I've ever heard it today. Yuck. Multiple idiots all raving at once on 37, 38, 39, 415 & 425 right now. We got music, political arguments, two different 11111 guys, air raid sirens, moaning women, whistling, endless ooooola's and a crying baby. And that's just on 37 and 38 over a ten minute window. I gave up quickly and found something else to do.
Too bad it has to be this way. It's like listening to the soundtrack to the collapse of civil society.

When I was a young lad maybe in my single digits I remember reading in the Sunday paper publication a article about how the American people were losing their manners and I have watched that happen and remember that article to this day. I hear all that hash and trash too, and I'm so tempted to say what I think. BUT . . . I shut up because I don't want to add to it. Cb radio has always been a place for the cowards, low-lifes and gutter trash to cause problems because they can do it from behind a mike (or a keyboard) and not face -to -face. Just remember what goes around, comes around, and they will get their's some day. The best we can expect is to be there and watch it when it happens.
