11 meter is very quiet?

Another great skip day yesterday! Lots of contacts on various frequencies but what stands out is I had an amazing pipeline to New England on 26.805FM and talked to a bunch of stations out there all in a row....and all with S9+ signals! FM is fun when the conditions co-operate!
Gonna give Dx-land a try this afternoon. Starting at about 2pm EST. 37LSB. Listen for me.

I was talking to you on my stryker sr 955 hp with a silver eagle mic on a sirio 2008 antenna 35 ft to base of antenna. After we talked i noticed my outcom was not on so we talked bare bones on my end
I was surprised as well. I didn't expect to hook up with any forum members today, and when you came back you were great to hear. Thanks for the good words about my station. it was like fishing jj i was calm relaxed n BINGO it happened. poor guy in conn. tried to hit you when i was talking but the chatter kept wiping him out. half hour later it died down and i got back to him.

wow radioing was not so good yesterday. but 2 meters was strong. i got on hammy side and talked to a few i know south of me 140 miles. we talk when conditions are right or i fire up my mirage but yesterday 50 watts did it
Hey JJ! Around 11:30am PST yesterday (the 16th) you were in here with an S8 to 9 signal on 37LSB. Absolutely booming. Every time you unkeyed about 20 stations would all start hollering back at you. It was a pileup worthy of the ham bands LOL!
Hope to find you on a clear channel where we can talk one of these days.....when conditions co-operate you make the trip up here really well!
was no radioing yesterday. most important thing in my life came to visit. my daughter. after she left i was on 27.8500 lsb talked local to friends. only radios on yesterday was my scanners and 3 structural fires. think it was from people thawing out froze water pipes. was 8 degrees at 5 am. however its 3 degrees today 2 at 3:55 am
This cold front headed our way is supposed to knock daytime temperatures down into the 60s. Burrrrrrrr.....
How in the world will you ever survive these kind of temperatures?? I supposed it's just common sense to replace your speedo with a pair of pants? And would you also need a pair of socks?

It's suppose to go down to -6 or -7 F tonight, and a high in the teens tomorrow and for a couple days before we get back in to the 30s ! A regular Heat Wave ! LOL
I did make 1 faint contact today but couldn't pull them out very good. But that was after a morning of snow removal.
