11 meter is very quiet?

I fired up the base at 1:30 EST. Wanted to hear WDX226's new base. So dead on .375L that there wasn't even static. Monitoring and heard 0507 KY and had a nice QSO. Also 3648 SC, all the while calling WDX226. Just wasn't happening. Maybe manana.

I was on and listening. I heard 0507 KY booming in, having a qso with you JJ, but I couldn't hear your side of the conversation. I made a hand full of contacts but conditions were just never all that good here. It looks like they may be better today.

I have a few small projects this morning and will be on around noon or just after (central time zone) Hopefully I can connect with a few WDX members.

Has anyone ever made contact with the country of Israel on 11 meters via SSB in this forum??? I once made contact with Saudi Arabia back in the early 90's, just curious with everything going on over there.......
I have made a contact into Afghanistan on 11 meters, many years ago, it was a contact that asked me to pass traffic for a couple members of the old CB Tricks Forum, that's how long ago that it was.

Dx is insane for all parts of the US this morning, but pretty sketchy for my part of the world. Gonna give it a try anyway. 37LSB at about 11 AM EST. If you hear me, give me a shout-out.

I tried on 37 LSB for a couple hours this morning, it was really spotty.
One decent contact, Ridge Runner in Georgia that was fading in and out fast, then more soft hiss, about 20 min later, Martian in Mexico City called, I got a few words from him and then he was gone.

It seems much better for me in the evening here on the west coast with the band the way it is currently.

Tried Dxing from 11AM 'til 1PM. Nothing but static. At 1pm went up to the house to watch the Formula 1 race. At 3:30 went back to the shack and began calling for WDX226 and WDX1863. Again no luck. Went to work on the bench and at about 5:15 heard 329 Mike in Kentucky come booming in, calling for me. Shouted right back, and we enjoyed a great 50 minute uninterrupted QSO. He was hitting me 10 over 9 and said I was doing the same on his end. Absolutely no other traffic. It had been a long time since I hooked up with him. Great to catch up. We agreed that conditions were strange, but we weren't complaining.

Hope everyone had a good father's day. 73.

I heard you and 329 talking, both times, but I just couldn't make the trip. Mike was right, you were booming in! You sounded like you were in my driveway. But... I just couldn't make it happen on my end. "I was giving her all she's got, Captain!!". :ROFLMAO:

I did qso with Puerto Rico, Jamaica and AZ.
My three contacts for the day....

Tons of evening skip lately. Last two nights was so bad it was killing any chance of local rag chew. Our local frequencies are 27.305 AM, and 27.535 lsb. Tonight was great on 27.535. All us locals in Arkansas were bullshiting and next thing you know we had people in 5 states all come in. Arkansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Michigan. Everyone was very clear and on frequency for about 30 minutes. Was a good night for radio here in the hog yard.

I spent the whole day working on several of my radios. Non-working ones I'd gotten over time. Monitored 27.375LSB the whole day. I CQ'd Brother Dxer all day, and when I did , several stations (never him) came back to me. So, I had several nice conversations during the day. Took a break for a late lunch and came down to the shack again at 5:30 or so. CQ'd Bro Dxer again but still no luck. Lots of stations calling me saying I was loud at their QTH, but none loud enough for me to copy them for long.
I hope tomorrow is better. 73.
