11 meter is very quiet?

Fantastic conditions today out here on the far west coast.
Same here. I made contacts in all directions today.
Germany, Brazil, Hawaii, across Canada east to west, same with the US. Cali, PA, FL.
And you're right, 36 through 38 was completely disastrous. I stayed on the zeros and also up in the higher frequencies.

I had a qso with NB613 in Ontario FM 26.805. He said they're having a FM check-in on 26.855 Sunday from noon to 2:00PM.

You are talking about the infamous 333. He hasn't been on lately and the story I heard from someone else down there is that he blew up his amp. Hopefully it stays broken and he stays off the air, but I suspect he will be back soon.............
your probably right. he gets loaded n lets er all air out

its dead in my area yesterday

Pretty good conditions this morning and made several contacts. The rest of the day was a circus, bunch of ass clowns making it impossible for anyone to talk. Started moving up the band and seen a strong signal. Touched the screen, fine tuned the vfo, and hear @unit_399 and @DXman having a qso. Great signals and audio on both. I was late to the party but got a short conversation in with both of them before they signed off. Sure was nice hearing good clean signals. And talking with two wdx members at the same time was a first for me. Thanks for the qsk guys.

The propagation was good here today so I rode the DX waves until it petered out around 7 pm cst. Strange conditions no doubt, I talked east coast when I started then as the day moved on it swept inland. As evening rolled around I worked the west coast and Canada. Not bad at all!

No dx for me today, unfortunately.
Spent the day at the ER / Hospital with my father in law. He took a bad fall, but they managed to put him back together. It could have been a lot worse than it was.

Edit - I'm off tomorrow, so I should have lots of time to spend in the shack.

Last Sunday I brought the quad-6 into the car and rode off to western Quebec for an event. I took the Oka-Hudson ferry and had a contact from France in the middle of the Ottawa river. That was a first.

Arriving on the other side I stopped for a coffee in this town called Rigaud and I snagged a contact from Corsica, right there in a parking lot next to a dollar store. I think that's the first one I logged from 104 division.

In other news, back at home base conditions are slowly improving here. Gotta get some work done here, but the radio keeps callin'

heard a guy talking about how he was pushing 400 watts, but I couldn't hear his neighbor the guy pushing a wimpy 100 watts.
There's only 1 S unit difference on receive between a 100 watt signal and a 400 watt signal. The reason you couldn't hear one of the stations is more likely due to him having a less efficient antenna system, lower elevation antenna, or a geographical disadvantage (like being in a deep valley).

Other than atmospheric conditions, the primary factors influencing whether you do or do not hear someone are antenna type and height, and geographical location. Power output is way down the list!
