11 meter is very quiet?

I'll report spotty conditions here this evening but still have been able to work pretty much both east and west coasts. The propagation seems to come and go and when it's good it's quite the hornets nest. I've started calling cq and then asking to qsy in between channels and it sure seems to catch a good qso that way. Occasionally I'll hear someone come back and say they can't but not very often.

Not bad, just glad we've got something to work with again.

Didn't get on the radio until early evening, but when I got on around 5pm we had a serious pipeline to Australia and Hawaii going with big signals both ways!

Talked to several operators in Australia & Hawaii on 36 & 37 all of who sounded like they were parked a mile down the road from me........ Still hearing lots of downunder signals right now. I didn't even have need to run an amp....just 65 watts from the Anytone 5555N2 straight to a delta loop.

Didn't have much time lately with work and all. I managed to log at least one contact from France. I got some other low signal in Saskatchewan but I couldn't catch his callsign. Then I ran out of time.

On the other hand, I bit the bullet and finally unlocked the IC-7300 a short while ago. Me and my soldering iron politely asked for that little resistor to please vacate the premises, and it gracefully obliged. I adjusted mic gain and compression, fiddled with a few other settings and got a successful radio check on the triple nickle from a guy in Nebraska. I'm sounding mighty, it seems.

This means the quad6 pro is going into my car permanently and replace the 980SSB. I am likely to give it to a good friend of mine who lives on a mountain 40 miles up north. I'll try and get him setup right once I catch up with him.

I had pretty good luck today on the uppers. 42, 43 and up. Lots of heavy traffic on 36 to 39, but I had a few qsos on 40. I spent some time on FM 26.805 and had a 20 minute qso with 164 (Mike) in Illinois, and a few other good contacts there as well.
It was a very sporadic day for me. I'd get busy doing stuff around the house then I'd find myself in the radio room, and on and on.....
I sure was hoping to catch up with some wwdx members. Maybe another day.

Conditions were pretty good here today. I worked in the garage and listened all day but when my hands were free I called cq getting an answer every time. The morning was Europe and the east coast and this afternoon was a little east with lots of west coast. Not bad from the garage station 955 into an attic dipole pointing north to south.

I was parked on 27.375 all day.

I heard most of that QSO and tried to call you at the end of it, but couldn't make the trip back to you! I have a pipeline from here to Illinois these days, and talk 164 sometimes in the morning there on 26.805 FM.........

Great conditions here this morning but fizzled a bit in the afternoon. The usual weekend chaos on 36 to 40 but I did have pretty good luck with 36LSB. Made several contacts on 26.805 FM as well. Lots of Brazil and Argentina up on 555 but haven't spent much time up there lately.

You know, I heard what I thought was someone trying to reach me. But you know FM. You either have a clear connection, or not. Very little in between except for static noise.
It's too bad we couldn't make contact. Maybe tomorrow!
