11 meter is very quiet?

I finally made my first ever contact to South Africa this morning. I made a very quick contact with Steve Needlbender 124. Last night it was a couple of contacts to Hawaii. Pretty quite otherwise.

Edit,1:05 pm the northwest corner is making a lot of noise down south of the Alamo.

Congratulations! That's a great contact! It's been hit and miss out here on the west coast, but thanks to a tip from DXMan, I did snag 271DA/0 from the Republic of Nauru a couple of nights ago, and we've had several strong openings to the southeast U.S. recently. Right now I have Florida - Texas - Gulf Coast stations coming in pretty well on 38.

It was spotty here today. I was trapped indoors all day today because of rain from a nor-easter so ran the coal stove to warm the house and ran the radio to listen. I'm hoping once the fall leaves are down the DX will start bouncing again off these bare hills. LOL
