12 meter action.

For phone, it's a pretty small band - 24.930 to 24.990. You shouldn't have trouble finding someone in that narrow range if the band is open. I haven't found a whole lot of activity there over the years, but with the higher band openings starting to happen again, it should pick up.

whats the commonly used mode ?

Upper Sideband.....

Like Mole said, I too have scanned that band many times now, and haven't heard a peep. Even spent some time calling out CQ with no takers.

I have make one contact on 17m and two on 15m over the course of the last 6 months, but 12 has been dead.....

10 meters has been showing some life lately, been hearing Florida coming through to the Jersey shore a few times in the past week.....

24.950 seems to get used as the calling freq as it's about in the middle.

Wish I could meet you there but the IC 746 is gone and my 2 mobiles don't cover it.

Have made some contacts on 10 Meter AM though. Call freq there 29.000 Need to be General or above of course.

I have been on 12M recently from Honduras and usually make contacts on 24.950MHz USB. Most of my contacts are in the afternoon to South America.

I have worked US stations in Fla and Texas but only once or twice a week.

I use a vertical antenna and 100W

K1IED in Ct makes regular contacts on 12M with a KW and 4 el quad to many
DX stations

I use the NCDX CW beacons on 24.930MHz to see when the band is open

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
