...I have a technical question that I need infor on. I have a tubed 6 meter Heathkit AM radio that I would like to add SSB too. I kno that FM is possible but SSB is definitely more complicated. Anybody have any ideas for EZ modification to SSB. I already have a BFO circuit for reception but stripping the carrier out then adding SSBs on transmit is not so easy. Thanks, any help is
welcomed. cobrian

I hate to discourage you but even if you added the balanced modulator, carrier null and crystal filter to remove the unwanted sideband, the old tube AM Heathkit would never have sufficient stability for SSB use. The frequency drift allowed on older tube AM 6 meter radios is far from what is required for SSB.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
