6M Mode?

So what would be the popular mode for working 6M? I'm wondering if something like the Alinco DR-06T would be worth while. It's FM only. Is SSB not used much on 6M?
I've never had a 6M rig so I'm clueless as to what goes on there.
 

SSB is far and wide the most used mode between the two. When the band is open you can work FM simplex or even into distant repeaters but you really need SSB mode to work the really good stuff. I actually don't remember EVER hearing any FM activity from outside North America on 6m but intercontinental DX using SSB happens all the time when the band is open.
