8 Digit freq counter from china/AliExpress

Another question on this counter.
what would be the off set if any for AM and upper and lower sideband for the cb band? I know you can only have 1 set for these counters at a time

I have installed and modified dozens of the PLJ-6LED counters. Never could see the point of 8 digits. The doc file above shows the 8-digit display is a lot fancier than the 6-digit. Not quite as simple to set up.

What do you mean about an offset? For example on a cb radio channel 40 is 27.405. Whether you use FM or AM or ssb modes it’s still the same frequency.

Hey @Techno1 lots of the info your looking for is the other thread about the Cobra 29 Cobra 29 and frequency Counters.

As you know these counters will display AM/FM with either the 7.8MHz or 10.695Mhz set and will also correctly display either LSB correctly or USB correctly but will not display AM/FM/USB/LSB only AM/FM with USB or with LSB.

For at Crowling63 if you do not input the offset for USB or LSB to these counters they will not show the frequency correctly, rather they will show 2.5 up on USB or 2.5 down on LSB.
All of this depends on the radio of course but generally 7.8 and 10.6 are most common.

That depends on the radio, you never said what radio it's going in. Also, to switch between offsets, you have to manipulate the header pins on the counter so it knows which offset to use. You could use a small relay off the mode selector switch to switch the modes. There are other ways also. Also, it only has 2 offset options, an improvement would be one with 3 offsets.

Thank for posting the info I asked for and yes on only doing 1 mode at a time.
Im going to use mostly for Am but wanted the #s for ssb option.

Happy 4th to all

Yes I now understand what you mean. I misunderstood your meaning of offset. I thought you meant the frequency displayed when transmitting being different than the receiver frequency. I too have a plj-0802-E counter I purchased from AliExpress. It has the +/- offset function button. AM being 455 khz plus or minus I don’t recall if the offset is 2.5 or not. You have a totally different counter/freq display thsn mine. Then again I only paid $1.77 and that’s with tax and free shipping and handling lol.
