In the mobile, I'm not concerned with SSB and I run a mildly tuned G/L into class "C" 1x4. I run it with a noise canceling mic and the gain backed down to noon-1 o'clock. It's sounds pretty warm and natural on AM, not all scratchy and harsh like most AM mobiles, but I have no clue what it sounds like on SSB since the G/L has no SSB. However, I think it would work "okay", but I wouldn't expect compliments on audio quality out of the blue.
