About the time I started on the Tesla coil. Funny thing is it burnt down shortly after that picture was taken. Cause was determined to be electrical in nature. Go figure. Who would have thought.
It has been a while and amp on owners shelf waiting for a fix now. One of the techs I talked to here and I am sure to not explain it quite right but he said batteries were probably used to put a - voltage to tube grid screen to turn tube off. This way it would draw very little from batteries and would last a long time. Thanks Jimbo
