Anytone AT 5000

fantastic, this will replace my crt 2000h (ie anytone apollo II), shame that this new one doesn't seem to have the instantaneous SWR meter

Hi friends. Could this be a fake?
Unusual design for an Anynote, and a rather small case from a regular AM/FM radio for a typically large AM/FM/SSB board. There are no controls typical for the SSB such as Fine/Coars.
In our country, the Optim-Voyager station has been produced in this building for many years.

I can confirm that I previously talked with Anytone after I posted about the Aquario RP70 and they said they were working on a small SSB radio.

I've been wanting something smaller than the McKinely for certain installs and this Anytone or the RP70 would definitely be fantastic - paired with a KL203 you'd have a killer little setup with NRC.

I think the power level on this is perfect. I'd rather have it be CB power level or old export power level. I don't want a tiny 100W radio that turns itself into a mini frying pan. I'd rather have a 18-25 watt radio that I can run into an amplifier. The size is great, just needs some tweaks for use and I think it will be a winner. Been waiting for something like this for a while.

It looks very interesting. The Aquario radio looks interesting as well. They both appear to be a similar very small size. I wonder how the power output of the new Anytone compares to the Aquario?

I'm not a fan of the display on the Anytone prototype version with all the different fonts and colors making it look like a cartoon. Much prefer the display on the Apollo II that Eldorado828 posted.......much nicer looking and easier on the eyes as well. Hopefully the display is dimmable for night driving (on my 6666 it's not and it's way too bright to use at night).

Whether I buy the AT-5000 or the Aquario RP-70 will likely come down to the price points and power/features of each radio. And I'll probably wait at least six months before I buy to see if either has any notable shortcomings or problems before I spend $$.
