Astatic 700 watt/swr meter

Is this a pretty fair meter?

Can I use this to ck my dead key down to 1 watt (Galaxy DX 2547), an most importantly can I leave it in line all the time?

Max error of +/- 7% on the lowest power range; I'd adjust for a little less than one watt indicated.

Can you leave it inline? Sure, as long as you don't exceed the power ratings indicated. If you want accurate peak readings, you can get an active peak reading meter for just a little more money. Personally, I'm not crazy about those Astatic meters but a lot of people like them.

ive got one . im well aware its no bird but it certianly didnt cost as much either . i wanted a big easy to read meter and the astatics are as accurate as dosey , which is close enough for me .

Yeah, I like the big meter part, but I'm also looking at the Diamond SX-200. It's got a lot of good reviews on eham.net, an about the same price wise.

i have the pdc model been threw a few around here dosy dee mfj still have my pdc easy to see small movments for tunning mine is modified with lites and monitor to hear my audio

I use one too, almost as accurate as a Bird, I leave it in line.....LOVE it.

That 801 HP is a very nice piece and the large meter is perfect for senior citizens who need larger numbers. It is a peak meter but not a "Feel Good" meter like the Dosys.

Well guys, when the dust was all settled, I ended up with an almost brand new Mirage MP-1 with remote head I found on E-Ham.net...
