629, I think you need to get the docs and check the continuity recomendations there.
The boom is insulated from the AP driven element at the boom mount. The boom for the director side and the boom for the reflector side are also insulated from each other at the boom mount.
The AP used as a driven element is a bit different from the regular AP in that the top element is basically a straight 1/4 wave element instead of using a cap hat at the top.
If you check continuity of the SO239 coax connector on the AP hub, shield to center, and the antenna is fully assembled, then you should see a short. If you remove the bottom hoop you will see and open circuit. If this does not happen you could have broken a small connecting pin built inside of the SO239 connector inside of the hub. This can happen while installing the bottom element under the feed point. There is a caution regarding this in the docs.
If you check the continuity for the driven element, top to bottom, you should see a short. And one end of the boom to the other accross the boom mount should show an open.
Reflector and director are insulated from the boom. However each element itself should show a short, top to bottom, accross their mounting hub. This is due to a small metal strap installed in each insulating hub that connects them accross the hub.
