It's a good thing that they never made that.. I can only imagine what a wreck involving one of those would be like given atomic technology in those days.

the device would not detonate like a atomic bomb if it were in a wreck....
at worst case the machine would not be repairable, depending on variables.
 
Exploding wasn't even on my radar actually.. I was thinking more along the lines of radiation leakage. I doubt that a tiny reactor built with '60s-70s technology (or even today's for that matter) could be 100% guaranteed to withstand a severe accident capable of tearing the rest of the car apart.

Yup they'll never be safe enough with current designs. anyway I doubt an atomic car would be of interest to anyone on this forum as the radioactive isotope would wash out the cobra29 or whathave you with static.
