Best Export Radio

RCI I has the capability of building a better radio. Here is the reason why they don't Mr Peng can build a radio and rename it 10 times and sell it and make money from it. People keep buying them so why should he spend money to improve something? He even told this to Justin Depolis this past year when he and Jimmy were face to face talking about the radios he manufactures and the problems that Justin finds.

148gtl, GrantXL, set up by the right person with uppers and lowers or just extra channels, variable wattage and unlocked clarifier - excellent receive and booming audio. Iove those two radios. Another choice like the old Cobra 25 (set up by the right person) with extra channels and variable wattage, the 25 has great rx and booming audio too. The receive on some of the exports is pretty good, some are decent and some just plain suck...

Just my opinion, Hossless

I agree with hossless - although it is not really an export, it rocks in DX Land.

I have a Grant XL I bought from Justin Depolis. He set it up and did the channels. I talks SSB like a madman and AM is great as well.

BTW - Talked to Sonwatcher in DXLAND tonight, he said to say hello.

Ill stick with my President Jackson, not the black one either, the older silver and gray face, with the 477 final in it! Nice and loud, yet clean, and dependable!!!

What is the best export radio out there. Do we consider the 2950 and 2510 exports? I have seen on another part of the forum where some do not like many of the RCI radios. This would include Ranger, Connex, Galaxy, some Superstars, Generals and many<img src=http://users.joplin.com/dutch64804/posticon44.gif ALT=":44"> others. I am wondering if I have just graduated to all Ham equipment? Why can't President or Ranger or Magnum or Northpoint or someone else engineer a decent export radio with a low noise floor, good sensitivity, good audio, good adjacent channel rejection, and that will hold up? Is it just to expensive to build?
