I don't know if I shared this story here already, but it's a fun thing to read, so....

I am owned by a 14 year-old loud, obnoxious female Moluccan cockatoo who is very verbal. These birds easily pickup and imitate all kinds of noises. I live on a street that's a major feeder to different communities and fire and police are running up and down here with sirens going frequently. So the bird does those sounds. Loudly. She does the phone ringing and people knocking on the front door. So I'm tricked into answering the door when no one is there..

One day I was on the radio just tuning around and listening to other people on CW. I always use headphones but this time I didn't have them on. Out of the blue, this other station comes thundering in covering up the QSO I was listening to. I tried going up and down looking for it but no matter where I looked the signal never changed.

And it was gibberish. Morse with no coherent words. I couldn't locate it anywhere. I finally gave up and turned the radio off and the gibberish didn't stop.

You guessed it, my parrot was making the noise. Now I will be treated to CW forever whenever she decides to yell it out.

I should have known better to wear the headphones......

Oh my goodness! I'm not a fan of CW to begin with, so that bird would drive me out of my mind!!
