CB antenna vs Ham

Can a CB antenna (say Larsen 1000) be used for a mobile 2 meter radio.

well i dont know what those anteenas look like but i know you can take a 102 an cut it or any whip ant an cut them to a 2m ant.. now if thats like a fire stick type i would say NO.

Nope...

However you can make (cut) a 3/4 wave from a 102" SS whip.

I thought I saw on this forum that someone used the Wilson 1000 as a ham antenna and found that it worked well.

Obviously I was on something at the time lol

In my case it was a donated 102" whip and I hardly ever talk on CB anymore so I figured why let an antenna go to waste?

I don't pay attention to what my fellow hams say about CB -- I am over it. The fact is they are just jealous I worked for Para Dynamics/Vectronics, and Palstar as a Tech... LOL j/k

As much as I would like to talk on CB -- in my area its dead...

You could cut a 102" whip for 10 meters, 6 meters, 2 meters, 220 meters, 440 meters......

2,6,1.25,70CM yes... I guess it depends on the wavelength you are looking for.

I do have a chart for converting the decimal to inches BTW on my website.

I think the CB'ers may be shuddering that thought tho.
