I would also check adjustment pot VR5. Someone may have used an improper tool on that pot and destroyed the wiper. Also check for any loose or bad solder connections on the S/RF, SWR, CAL switch and all wires leading from it. I recommend cleaning the switch with Deoxit Gold.
