i was gifted this radio without a mic plug. The person I got it from says the plug he put in there is good, but he took it apart a long time ago and said he couldn’t figure out how to get it wired back together and guess what, neither can I.

After messing with this all morning I have gotten as far as discovering that the yellow wire and the blue wire must be grounded to get receive on the radio. It has great receive so long as both these wires are grounded.

I have two more wires coming off the dynamike switch, a black and a white. All 4 wires total is in this picture. I have tried every different combination to try to get this thing going and I’m just giving up maybe one of you guys know which wire goes to which pin .

Thanks for that, I actually did look on CB tricks. I just can’t make sense of it I don’t have the skills to figure out which wires on the actual radio

Well if there’s 4 wires it’s really not terribly hard to figure out...

One will be a ground and easily enough to figure out, trace it back to the ground section on the PCB

One will send it into receive, ground it to the chassis and you’ll be rewarded with sound!!

One will send it into transmit...ground that one and you’ll get a key-up! Easy enough to know when that’s happening.

That leaves only one - audio.

You can’t flub up... all of them but 1 basically goes to ground at some point. It’s not that hard to figure out, don’t be afraid to blow something up. Once you do you’ll learn not to do that crap again and then you’ll learn how to fix it.

I wonder what would happen if you grounded the transmit and receive at the same time? Sorry I guess I'm not much help.

That’s a good question, only one way to find out that I’m aware of. Hold on...

    Transmit.

Or that’s what I’m getting. Was kinda hoping for a shock but it’s just 12v, ain’t gonna hurt you. But I got a fork and an empty outlet over there, I’ll see y’all later!

From the picture it appears that the wires inside of the radio have been removed from the connector inside the radio. If you do not know how to read schematics and trace circuits you will need to send it out for repair.

Now you hold on a minute there Bucko... this is about learning the old fashioned way... blowing stuff up if that’s what it takes. We don’t need to read no stinking lectronical road map to ground out a few wires. I’ve done this thousands of times, trust me I’m a professional.

Seriously if the wires are gone you might want to take a crash course in schematic reading but it’s not hard either.

Ok I’m gonna dig this back out this evening and try again.

This radio is not really worth me sending out to have somebody else do it. I don’t have to admit that I’m very much an amateur at this I drive a truck for a living not work on electronics but I’m trying to learn. I sure that shows in my posts.

I’ve tried to follow the schematics as best I can I just don’t understand are two of these wires are supposed to be together on one pin? Or how it supposed to be it’s just really confusing and the more I try to trace it down the more aggravated I’ve become so I made this post hoping that somebody would just know by looking at it .

I googled and googled hoping to find an image or maybe somebody had this particular radio apart so I can see the color of the wires and where they went but to no avail

I’ve done it many times, I personally see no harm in it. Tallman just likes to throw stones at me, he’s mad cause I won’t let him drive anymore.

Yeah in his condition he might throw his back out or drop it on his toe. I guess when you get old as dust you just get grumpy and moody.

Or maybe it’s all the sodium from them Ramens?
