I have to redo a couple microphones and ran out of condenser elements. I do not remember what I was using. What are the best elements to use? I hear mentioned on the forum Panasonic WM-61A quite often.
Thanks Mike,
I have switched out two or three HR2510 microphones with bad elements and I am told they sound fantastic. Way better than the factory microphone when compared side by side.
WM-61A's showed up today. Are they supposed to be about half the size of the factory or Radio condenser microphone elements? They sure are not what I used the last time but if this is what everyone is talking about they do have the most sound spectrum of anything else I have looked up so far.
@Low_Boy
Would you care to report on the Panasonic wm-61a condenser capsules? I'm considering some mic mods and that condenser keeps coming up in my searches.
Might want to try sending him a PM. Or what they call a "conversation" on this forum. If he set it up to send him email, he'll get notified. Says he last signed in here November 2024.
The best telephone condenser electret I have found is the Western Electric EL-2 Element. Used in all WECO phones made post 1989. Good natural sound and high sensitivity. I'll dig one out of my stuff and post a picture
