CX 46 tn1 CONVERSON TO 11 METERS

If you'll have a look at the solder side of the front corner of the main pc board, under the channel selector, you should see a handful of one-eighth Watt resistors, usually 100 ohm. They will be stretched across the solder side of the board near the board's outer edge. Simply removing them usually does the job. No need for a soldering iron. Diagonal cutters with small-enough jaws will work.

Hello. It worked. I did as you suggested. took them out. Now I have 11 meters. WOW. My A99 antenna is dialed in. I needed 100 watts to drive my amp in 11 meters. As soon as I change to 220 ac, I will need your knowledge again. Thanks again.

Only real option is a linear.

Anyone who doesn't first ask how much it's putting out now won't be helpful.

Additional power isn't like the ET at a drag strip. A tenth of a second makes you a big winner.

Radios work by proportion. You'll need to double your wattage for a receiver to show one whole number increase. Some radios will show only half a number, coming up from a six to six and a half, say. Unless the radio has been crippled, there's not enough capability in the radio to double the wattage.

Making the audio louder is more effective. But it's rare to see that model before someone has turned up the radio's modulation limit. Very rare.

So, how much does the radio put out now?

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
