I picked up a Dentron Clipperton L and the 10 meter part of band switch is burnt up. Is there a way I can make this amp only work on 10 meters and do away with band switch???? I do not need the other bands.

Ah, seems like a self-explanatory kind of modification. But only if you have already done it, I suppose.

Bypassing the band switch is a common "hot-rod" modification, especially among hot-rod types who like to disregard the, ah "red line" and burn the switch contacts that way.

I don't remember having pics on file showing this, but I'll have a look next time I'm at work. The 10-meter coil is probably shared with 15 meters. Bypassing the band switch usually takes a piece of #12 solid wire.

In the right place. I'll see if I can locate any visual guidance on file. Don't have a good enough picture in my head of that output circuit to get specific from memory alone.

I once had a Clipperton L. I too had bandswitch issues. I would harvest switch contacts from junk box switches and fasten them to the wafer with #2 screws.

Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
