Slim, my 2600 does around 50watts on am and between 50 and 60 on ssb. Had him put in the big final, install an external speaker jack and run some heavier gage power wire. Also, a fan on the heat sink so it won't get hot. Of course his great tune and allign. I am very satisfied overall. The reports are loud and clean.

Like I've said before, if ya' aint getting down on am with the Lincoln line of radios, send it to Doc and you'll scream on am as well as be super clean and loud on sideband.

If and when I get around to having my 99 gone through, I'm gonna' send it to Doc.

I just bought a "Working" HR2600 last night. About a 8 1/2 appearance without mount for $40.00 . It's going to Doc as soon as Xhristmas is over..

Doc did the whole nine yards on mine. New final, cooling fan, variable power,Chipswitch socket, and his famous peak and tune! I don't have a good meter to put mine on but that cheezy little Aries SWR/Power meter I have(not the 460) was swingingup near 70 or 80 watts on SSB! Take those numbers from where they came. All reports said it was clean, clear and loud on SSB. This with an Astatic 575M6B mic turned up about 1/3 and the mic gain button on the radio out!

He put the socket in because it's an HR2600 and had an unmodifiable chip in it so he had to put one in from an HR2510. But if the Chipswitches ever come out again I can just drop one in!

You won't be sorry sending it to Doc!

I don't think you'll find anyone unhappy with Doc's work. I sent my new Lincoln to him for "the workz", an external S meter jack, a chipswitch (I lucked out on that one as there haven't been any made in a while), and a cooling fan.

While mine doesn't have the stoutest final in the world, it still does 43 watts bird on SSB. He did offer to change the final out, but as it is, it overdrives the hell out of my poor ole KLV550. My locals thought I had bought another radio when I keyed it up on AM after getting it back. I don't know what he does, but it definitely makes these "no-swing" radios swing like hell.

Most important to me was whatever he did, it still acts as it should on SSB. With a Turner +3b this rig collects flowers like no other.

Well you guys must all be smokin something funny. There is NO WAY a 2510/Lincoln can sound good on AM! At least thats what most folks said when I used to brag on mine I can key up on AM with my Cobra,Midland, Titan AND Lincoln and none of the locals can tell much difference except sometimes they think I'm on the base when I use the Lincoln in my pick up

Oh ya, I forgot variable power too.

So, do you fellow lincoln line owners recommend the Turner +2 or +3 desk mic for these radios? I kinda like a hand held. What hand held mic do you all think would give the best sound/performance. I'm running the 636 right now with good reports. But would like to upgrade to a better mic.

I was a 636 guy too! (kinda still am) Then I tried a 575! Nice mic.! Rocks on the "Fightin' HR2600"! If your running it as a base it's hard to beat a D104 M6! That's what the Goob used to use at home on his 2510 and that little radio was loud and clean!

Happy Holiday's
