It’s all about what the buyer wants. You can buy his special heat treated whip for $160 or buy a brand spanking new Wilson 5000 for $100. Before talking skip, I prefer heating the whip with my BBQ lighter. Not only does it help draw more signals, it helps keep the bugs off. 
hahahaha, its obviously a joke listing. i want to say that nobody is that stupid but i would be lying. it is ebay after all, it very well could be some dumb a$$ trying to sell garbage. thats nothing new
WILSON 5000 ANTENNA DAMAGED BY 15KW AMP - WHIP STILL GOOD. BRAND NEW BOX WITH MINI BROCHURE INCLUDED
This antenna came direct from the factory and arrived defective with a loose connector. It was repaired by our licensed RF engineer who stated in the workorder that it would never operate within spec.
So we decided to put the Continental 316F-15 on it to see how it would perform. It worked beautifully without any issue for 2 minutes 25 seconds. Then we noticed the transmitter's AMI-VSWR protection breaker had tripped with the antenna warning light flashing. Sadly, the coax cable had shorted out when the antenna caught fire. The good news is that the whip was not seriously damaged, and only shows mild charring after being cleaned off with rubbing alcohol.
We will include the brand new Wilson antenna factory box with mini brochure at no additional cost.

Hmm. I smell a rat. Says it was hooked to a "Continental 316F-15".

That's a 15 kW AM broadcast transmitter. A 27 MHz mobile antenna is not so efficient between 550 and 1700 kHz.

I bet someone will buy it and complain that it's not new. The wording at the end of the description might make someone think there is a new one in the new box......
