It's not right but, it's exactly like the builder intended because these are not transistors designed with RF stages in mind. In those cases you would have a lower power, higher gain transistor designed for the driver, and something more robust as the final, perhaps having a lower gain. Today, you get repurposed switch mode power supply transistors, being misused as linear RF transistors and they are horribly unreliable as a result. It’s my friends radio, he had someone supposedly put new finals in it so I wasn’t sure if he installed the wrong ones. He also put a voltage regulator in with no heat sink grease, the side of the radio was getting so hot you could barely touch it and by that time the radio would flicker on and off.
It’s crazy the number of people that think these type of radios are any good.... I mean they are complete trash! As soon as you touch one thing, something else falls apart. It’s like they put the damn things together with hot glue and toothpicks!
