Fast Food Chain Scam?

A little humor here.
Today I read an article on the internet and seen a short video of a possible scam at a fast-food restaurant.
A customer purchased a few food items and a drink and paid with his credit card. When he entered to his vehicle and read the receipt, he noticed an additional $1.00 fee. He returned to the restaurant and asked what the extra $1.00 was for. The employee tells the customer to look into the bag. The customer pulled out a coupon good for a soft serve cone or small fry with any purchase. Of course (as most of us would) the customer assumed the coupon was for a "free" soft serve or small fry. He did not ask for the coupon. The $1.00 charge was identified on the receipt as: BKF Cpn. $1.00. (Burger King Free Coupon: $1.00. Scam or not a scam? Lol.......lol!

There was a Walmart scam a while back. The clerk would ring up a code on your receipt, then take the money out of the till.

Just came across your old post—what a funny situation! I had a similar experience with a smoothie place where they charged extra for “organic whey protein isolate” on my receipt. At first, I thought it was a bit strange, but then I realized it was actually high-quality stuff that made the shake taste way better. It’s kind of like finding a surprise fee for a coupon that isn’t quite free but adds something special.

And who's to say your really getting the organic protein, your obviously paying for it. I guess you will know when you see the kid bring up one big can and fill both protein bins up with the same stuff.

When I go to McDonalds (not too often), I get a double cheeseburger and a small fry. Both are on the McValue menu (says buy any one item and get another for a dollar). So last time I was there, I told them I want to pay for the small fry and add a double cheeseburger for a dollar. They weren't having it. They charged me for the double cheeseburger and gave me the small fry for a dollar.
