Finding noise problem.

So as some of you know I live in the north. So with the snow and road salt cars rot away and get ruined around here. We already have gotten 9 inches.
I took my honda out of storage yesterday and threw a magnetic antenna on and put in a 2950 run off the cigarette lighter. In the driveway with the car running the noise was one bar bouncing to two bars. with the car off nothing was showing on the meter. On the base the same radio has abo u two bars bouncing to 3 bars.
Funny thing is about 10:15 PM last night I turned the radio on and it was as quiet as it gets. Could hear skip from all over. This morning at 7AM all noise and strong signal is back.

I have that same thing going on. Daytime is terrible. It’s a conspiracy from the power company to limit communications and stop DX’ing...

After you find the pole, hit it with a sledgehammer while listening for the noise. Sometimes the problem is not the noisy pole, it's the one next to it.
I am having no luck at all. It has been so cold out I really don't want to be outside any longer than possible.
