Just picked up a LUITON LT-778 to replace my old base station setup. Figured I'd share some quick impressions since I know a few people here have asked about export CB radios.
Running it mobile in my truck now. The 60W FM mode is no joke — on a good day with the right antenna I'm hitting guys 40+ miles out on channel 19. Never got that kind of range with my old 4W radio.
Setup was dead simple. 20 minutes from unboxing to on the air. Menu is clean, display is easy to read, and the mic feels solid.
Only downside for me: no SSB. I knew that going in, but once in a while I miss it. If you need sideband the LT-5558B is the obvious next step, but for pure AM/FM this thing is hard to beat at the price point.
Running it through a Wilson 2000 antenna on a magnet mount. Anyone else using one of these? Curious how it's holding up for others long-term.
