They are decent rigs, if you like the sound of the 6900 board radios you'll like these. You know the deal, if they're not hacked up, they'll sound good.

These radios have good audio and the receivers in them are great. Well built Rigs just a little pricey.

I think that paying that high of a price for a non-ham type (Yaesu, Icom, Kenwood) of rig, I would rather spend those extra bucks on an amp.

Just my opinion, and that is not worth much these days <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

I wasn't aware the finals in those radios were rated that high. Please send tech sheet from manufacturer.

Toshiba 2SC2290 datasheet indicates that output without significant intermodulation distortion is 60wPEP. (per transistor). This is at 28.0000 MHz, 12.5v. I am confused as to how a pair of these can generate anything over 200 peak watts unless is is being measured on a meter boosted with cheez-whiz.

I agree with Charger...you can get a radio with similar features and a 350-400w amp for equal or less $.
