Galaxy DX-2547 Parts

Won't be long before junkyard parts are your only choice. That part isn't being used in any radios currently produced. It will slowly dry up, starting with the legit suppliers like Barkett.
I rarely pass on a beater radio, if it can be had cheap. Cosmetics be darned. I will sacrifice 1 working beater to repair 10 nicer radios any day. Like getting a motor from the junkyard, I will take the greasiest, dirtiest engine I can find to rebuild. They seem to be better under all the filth than an engine that was cleaned much too often and I get it cheaper.

Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
