Galaxy radios is dead

I somewhat disagree.....
All you wrote, in my opinion, is not facts or factual.
It is merely your opinions.... Which everyone has a right to express....
And, buying pre-made dipole antennas and such is a convenience which was not available back in the times you speak about.....
And neither was technology......
Your opinion is, just that. I am stating more facts, than opinion here. Have you passed the Advanced written exam?

Buying a dipole in a baggie, is not how things were done in the past. The rite of passage, was to make your first antenna. I am licensed over 50 years now. How about you? I also built my first transceiver, the Heathkit HW-101. I know how things were, and how things are now. Things have changed, dramatically, since I started in this hobby. That is a fact.

Does Anytone even make anything? Looks like the back of my Radioddity QT80.
Qixiang is the company that makes Anytone.
CRT, Radioddity, and Stryker pay to have the Anytone radios made with their own branding. The Stryker 955HPC+ is exactly the same inside as the Anytone 5555N2 it just has a different shell and those hideous blue LEDs.

Edit to add: Looks like Super Lid beat me to it!

How odd that the QT80 vs the Quad 6 usually favors Radioddity for price. :)

  • @ Hambones amps:
Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
