That is a neat book. I have purchased old books from ebay for my mother before. You can still find books from the 1800's for less than $40 sometimes. The way that they wrote back then is slightly different than what we are used to today.
I too received a book from a friend. An old radioman's guide from the 40's it looks like. It's neat the way the cover is embossed. Mine has yellowed pages, but contains a lot of old school material.

There is a lot of interesting things to learn from these older books. It doesn't seem like the younger generation has any interest in this any more, or for that matter in history itself. A lot of it doesn't play out any more, but this stuff is the basis, and basics of today's technology.
