looking for advice/guidance on my 1st ham radio i have the ft-101e i'm ready for a new toy at the moment my max price is up to $400.00
insurance on property here in fl keeps going up hurting the pocket

yaesu FT-890 for $450 is in good shape. has AM filter and built-in antenna tuner

Good shape with all elderly issues. 890 was nice 30 years ago when I had it. Now it is just old radio needs care.

i'm looking for help or guidance to understand better how to figure out the actual input frequency. example
on digital radio 27.3850 but on crystal radio ft-101e it's 27.3830
on 40 meters digital 7.27200 on ft-101e 7.2686 give and take a digit

well i bought the radio yaesu ft-890 The guy was only 1 hour from me an ex-ham operator and a marine vet when i told him i was also a marine he felt more relieved it seemed with back-in-the-day stories radio is working fine only drawback trying to find a mic pinout for an adapter to use my tug-8 mic

so it seems 8=white audio 6=red-transmit 7=shield+black hum only 3 wires
so on 4 pin cobra 1=shield 2=audio 3=trans 4=black wire or do i keep shield and black on pin 0ne ???
