Thanks me to . I know there is mixed feelings about Dustin and his work but I must say speaking for myself my comp 29 is a animal barefoot when I run my amps that thing is a monster.

It might be a good idea before you "lock and load" on the connections...

Check for that looseness and even clearance - make sure the knurl seats and the feruule under it is not loose...

Give then a good tug to see if the "knurl - notch and Teeth" are seating and you can't twist the coax sheath (not the knurl twist on - it's ferrule the one on the PL-259 that slides into the connection that has both the center pin and outer shield) make sure you can't make it move or make it shift.

• - if that's the case, you're going to need to make some changes to the SO-239 PL-259 connectors
• - that may require retightening or rework/redo the SO-239 at that component of your system so you can provide clearance to the PL-259's screw "depth" - if it's too long - replace with a different brand of PL-259 or even to the extreme of grinding off / filing down that knurl ring to threaded portion - but it looks like hell - so better to replace with a less deep connector - even if it means using a different patch cord

I've seen a few PL-259's that their outer Knurl thread-depth is TOO deep in depth, preventing the notch of the PL-259 and teeth of the SO-239 - not mating making a SOLID sealed - SEATED connection - it will come loose if you fail to check it on occasion.

Don't want to see you lose your monster to a bad connection...

Mostly wear and abuse. It also happens when someone leaves a solder blob on a coax connector and jams it in the socket.

I replaced a relay in my amp because of this recently. Intermittent RX loss was the symptoms. I could key the amp a couple of times with the foot pedal and the RX would come back. I figured it had to be the relay but I was wrong. The connector under my work bench that goes out to the antenna was loose on the center conductor.

Hopefully it fixes your problem.

UPDATE. My 15 year old jumper died. I tried 2 new truck stop junkers both bad . Moral of the story don’t go cheap . Dustin fixed me up with new jumper solder amphenol ends with big grey chord. I’m 10-8 again.
