Have a cobra 29 ltd classic with an rfx 75 won't power up I checked voltage at the back of the plug and reading nothing no protection diodes or traces blowed could there be something bad in the rfx

I checked voltage at the back of the plug and reading nothing
If the power cord is not delivering juice to the socket, the problem must be upstream from the radio. What source of power are you using to energize the power cord? Any chance the power cord's fuse holder has gone bad? They don't last forever.

So I checked all that is good getting power to the plug in all the protection diodes look good no burnt traces on the board still won't power on

check power at the on/off/vol switch. red is power to the switch, check that first, then check and yellow or orange wire is power out of the switch to power the radio on.

If thats not it then it could be the 8v regulator IC or a bad solder joint on it

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
