Home Homebrew 1/4 Wave 10 Meter Ground Plane

Changed the location and altered the angle of the wire radial.
The locals’ signals went up a somewhat and they are receiving me stronger as well.

Homemade Sirio Boomerang antenna. :p
Replaced the wire radial with a 4’ Firestik. The Firestik has a tunable tip making SWR adjustments simple. It’s flat on 20 and about 1.1 on 1 and 40. Now just need to get it in the air. :giggle:

Jim, what antenna are you running on the top there (the vertical one)?

Note: The title of this thread says “10 Meter Ground Plane”, but this one is a CB antenna. Somewhere in the thread, I switched over to 11 meters. :p
two things.
1. your powers of observation are intact.
2. a few minutes on SSB 11m will reveal that many 10m operators have switched over to 10m. they want to have more fun. :)

  • @ Hambones amps:
Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
