I recently replaced toshibas with HG pills in my x-Force straight 10 pill. I removed the original unregulated power supply as the HG are sensitive to voltage swings. Planning on stacking 3 of these to replace the unregulated supply. They are dozens of different versions out there. This is the only thing I could find on the PD19 version.

Any one ever use one of these?
They claim they work with out the need for batteries. And without interference to receive.

First off, welcome aboard new member. Second, you picked the right box. Lots of information on this unit which I'm sure you have discovered by now. For those who don't know, I will share some additional information on this.

These are $1000 dollar power supplies that power the premier computer servers in the world. Do you think they would cheap out or cut corners on production? Nope.

Here is a project that I am currently working on. HP 1200w, 80A @ 13.8v. I've got a couple of them. Got all the parts together, just need to 3D print the cases.

The hp server power supply used can be bought as little as $15.0 on eBay
I found a few from $25-36.99, some free shipping, some not. If you see a listing for $15 with less than $10 shipping, please link. I'm thinking of going this route and the cheaper the better.

The mods to make certain of the dps1200FB work for me aren't clearly available so I went with the DPS-1200SB A version. Lots of info out there for that one. There are a few FB versions and the mods are different.

Put the model number in youtube and you should be able to find a few posts on how to modify it. If not, I can link it here. I had this model on my list of looking into it.
Thanks, I did, and purchased 4 of them, although I was a bit confused about the added S in the model, as the videos don't include it, instead showing only HSTN, maybe it's a slimmer version? I will figure it out when I get them. I have been on the fence about these for a few years. I have used PC power supplies in the past to power equipment.

I had been searching on "DPS-1400CB" :)
My guess is that you'll be fine. With these prices it might be worthwhile to take a bit of a risk.

Nice! ... if you have access to 240v.
I have a 240 panel in the radio room, but I didn't realize these were 200/240 only. No problem, I can add an outlet. All the "big boy" toys seem to take advantage of the higher voltage/lower current anyways so I might as well prepare for the future. Will make the supplies harder to sell off to the casual radio hobbiest though.

They came in today, the conversion is simple enough, but I'm waiting on some high tolerance resistors so I can set them exactly and stack them. Will I need 400 amps? Probably not. But at least I will be able to test the big amps that come through and not break a sweat. Plus, if push comes to shove, I could jump start my truck or power the flux capacitor I have been hoarding lol.
