hmmm, 8 pin mic connector. must be a lot of mod in that mic to need all those extra wires.

Well, if they dump the roger beep, yes. Small potatoes really. With that 8 digit freq counter and adding a dual clarifier and put back in the band guard feature, it might actually have a shot at the Amateur market.

I have the original Huracan HR-07-NZ. It would be a brilliant radio except for the frequency drift, the receiver rivals my FT2000D and the TX is great on AM and SSB.
If they can guarantee the MkII is stable I would buy one in an instant.

I was always under the impression that the Huracan was a prototype , starting in the in the New Zealand market but not being able to get off the starting blocks. Found a similar model on youtube ( I think it is Romania)

Spoke to Dave on 27.400 yesterday. He is still hopeful about getting the the huracan produced. Still away off , but looks like it's going ahead.

update:

been doing some follow up…
The dream wish…4 ea irf520′s in the final for 100w output on SSB. Internal and external fans for cooling.
If Shift ring outside the clarifier
Adjustable AGC off , slow , fast
Noise blanker Off/On option
VFO A/B option as the easiest way of gaining split operation
Probably drop the clarifier functions to RX only
keep the beep..don’t use it if you don’t like it.
Electret mic
Switches will need to be up down in order to get them all in.
Drop at least one digit from the read out which will be a true frequency readout not a display.

You can get rid if it...see below. have had 5 or 6 69ffb4's that have had that problem. After doing everything I can, including sending it back to ranger twice, I now just tell people if the problem and the ones that want echo, I buy the echo board that is used in the mirage 86 hp because the board and the knob are all in one and it installs easily on the side.

Any way, you can get rid of the hum by adjusting the echo delay. The problem is you have I adjust it to the point that the delay is so long that you'll never use it. So, obviously that's not a good resolution.

Have the se problem with the stealth PRO.
